About

Bodhi Tees was founded by Shannon McGough, a multidisciplinary creator and practicing Chan Buddhist, whose life’s work has centered on resonance, awakening, and sacred design.

Her journey has carried her through many worlds: from touring in Broadway shows in the USA and Europe to teaching yoga and dance, from quantum sound therapy and energy jewelry to guiding wellness brands in bringing frequency-based technologies to life. Across all these paths, one thread remained constant: a devotion to frequency as a path to coherence and remembrance.

As an artist, Shannon created 365 Days of OM—a year-long meditation in paint, where she added a sacred symbol to canvas each day for 365 days. One of her works of art won recognition in Los Angeles from The Peace Project, where her 365 Days of Peace canvas was honored. Shannon gave away the digital rights to the painting so funds could be raised to buy crutches for survivors in Sierra Leone who had lost their legs in the war. For her, art has always been both ritual and service.

That same devotion lives in Bodhi Tees. Each garment is a harmonic emblem, designed not just as fashion but as remembrance. Our signature Custom Sigil Sweatshirts transform names into one-of-a-kind glyphs—personal talismans that are never repeated. Just as no moment in Chan practice can be duplicated, no sigil is ever the same.

Bodhi Tees also carries Shannon’s belief that awakening is both sacred and playful. Many designs are inspired by sutra study and meditation—but they also hold humor, wordplay, and lightness. Because enlightenment isn’t only stillness—it can also be a smile, a pun, or a soft cotton tee.

Bodhi means awakening. For Shannon, and for Bodhi Tees, it means remembering that we are not random—we are vibration. And what we wear can reflect that truth.

Bodhi Tees – Wear Your Frequency.

P.S.

What is Bodhi?

Bodhi is a Sanskrit word that means "awakening" or "enlightenment."

It refers to the deep spiritual realization of truth—the moment when someone truly sees things as they are, beyond illusion and confusion.

In Buddhism, Bodhi is what the Buddha experienced under the Bodhi tree:

✌️Awakening to the true nature of life

✌️Understanding suffering and how to move beyond it

👉 Bodhi means waking up — to life, to love, to truth, and to who you really are.

What is Dharma?

Dharma is a Sanskrit word that means "truth," "the way things are," or "the right path" depending on the tradition.

In Buddhism, Dharma usually refers to:
👉 The teachings of the Buddha — the wisdom that guides people toward awakening and liberation.
👉 The truth of reality — how life actually works when seen clearly.
👉 The natural law — the deep, unchanging truths that exist beyond opinions or beliefs.

In a more personal sense, Dharma can also mean:

😉 Living in alignment with truth, compassion, wisdom, and authenticity.

😉 Following your rightful path — acting in a way that is true to your highest self.

👉 Dharma is the path of living with truth, wisdom, and compassion. It's about growing, learning, and staying true to what matters—while keeping a light heart along the way.
